Black or White, how does it matter?

Barbara Mathilda

Black or White, does it really matter? Black is beautiful.

  • Racism
  • Discrimination
  • Loss of humanity
  • Mankind and nothing beyond

Black or White skin should not matter to anyone at all. If it does to some that’s because they are insensitive, and have a complex within themselves, they are inhuman.

Even animals are more humans in this regard. If a human does not regard another human, how much human is he or she?

Race is not a criteria to decipher one human from another, neither is colour of the skin, class, level, wealth or whatever!

The very fact that we are created by the same CREATOR, in the same manner, to breathe the same air, to live on the same ground, to eat the same food, shows we are all the same.

A Black is also born from a mother’s womb, then how is he different from a White? A White also dies one day, how is he superior?

On no grounds can we discriminate one being from another, no one is less than the other in any way.

Racism has been a discriminatory issue since ages. Either the colour of the skin or caste or race or class has always been the upfront hate factor in life throughout.

And the so called humans don’t seem to grow out of this delusion, I would say (mental dis-order). Only those who are not humans themselves do so.

Until the19th and 20th centuries, Racism in the United States had existed pre-dominantly, when white Americans were given legal, political or social rights like, voting, citizenship, land acquisition, while other races especially the Blacks were denied these rights.

Some other groups like the Arabs and the Jews had also faced continuous discrimination in the United States. The Blacks didn’t feel safe, they were treated with inequality and hate.

The good education system was mainly for the Whites. All government facilities were banned for the Blacks and the other minorities. The blacks were kept as slaves to the White masters.

‘America is burning’ over the incident of the killing of George Floyd, a victim of police brutality in Minneapolis, on May 25th 2020.

Shocking, though it was also good to see how a mixed mob of all races protested against this incident and brought the government to realise, ‘its high time Man got over this disease of Racism.’

Many other countries too condemned the act and protested.

There have been many such incidents in the past where racism took the better of humanity. Racism is still very powerful, though there is slow improvement as a result of the ideology of some who discourage racism.

In the past many well-known heroes fought against racism and discrimination like-

Let me be a free man – free to travel, free to stop, free to work.

Chief Joseph

An eye for an eye makes the world blind.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi

Whoever saves one life, saves the world entire.

Oskar Schindler

Each person must live their life as a model for others.

Rosa Parks

I hate racial discrimination most intensely and all its manifestations. I have fought all my life; I fight now, and will do so until the end of my days.

Nelson Mandela

America did not invent human rights. In a very real sense, it is the other way round. Human rights invented America.

Jimmy Carter

Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.

Martin Luther King Jr.

The world doesn’t belong to leaders. The world belongs to all humanity.

14th Dalai Lama

They worked tirelessly to bring equality, to make this world a better place to live. They have taught us how to live in love and peace.

And in the midst of all discrimination, many Black Jewels made it very big like-  Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.(a day is observed in his name), Muhammad Ali (World champion, Boxing), Nelson Mandela (president of South Africa and Nobel Peace prize winner), Michael Jackson (Pop King), Langston Hughes (great poet), George W. Carver (scientist and inventor), Barack Obama(ex-President, USA), Usain Bolt (fastest Athlete)  So many beautiful Black Models and Stars we have had.

We love Michael Jackson’s famous song ‘It don’t matter if your black or white’.

Racism is a disease, a cancer, it can eat into society and destroy humanity. The only way to fight this disease is to come out of this thought of Race.

If a human behaves like a normal human he or she will treat others equally, there will be no question of discrimination or hate.

We need to look up to everyone with an equal eye, with love and respect. How does colour, race, class, religion or wealth matter? Only LOVE matters!

We prefer black clothes over white then why not black humans?  Just be HUMAN!
