Tree Hazards: Spot Tree Problems and Get Rid of Them

Did you know that there were professional tree service providers? We always look to promote tree growth and prosperity during trimming. We are also very familiar with tree removal and make that a large part of our business. Identifying a tree in danger of failure is an important part of what we can offer the wellbeing of trees in general.

Trees with defects that are about to fail are sometimes as plain as day right in front of our faces. General inspection of a forest or woody area can usually be all that is needed to accurately assess its health. The general inspection involves looking at a tree crown in general. Is there a section that sticks out too far?

Check Branch at the Base Of Crown

A strong indicator of tree failure can be a branch at the base of the crown or any main branch that is larger in diameter than the branch it stems from. Also, codominant stems can be a huge risk. This is when two trees are essentially coming from one main trunk, the main stems of each are about the same diameter.

Since there is usually bark in between them as they connect, the union of the two trunks is usually weak and at risk for failure. We like to see stems, and all branches with a consistent taper, where the diameter is gradually getting smaller and smaller.

Check Leaning & Dead Branches – Hire a Professional Tree Service Provider

Most trees have a natural lean. They compensate for this by creating reaction wood as they grow, so one side is stronger than the other. Look for evidence of recent trauma or upheaval in any leaning tree since that will most likely mean there is no reaction wood supporting it, and it is more likely to fail.

The most likely cause of injury is not falling whole trees themselves, but dead branches within the canopy of the tree. If they are large enough, they will eventually fall off and cause damage if something is in the way.

Check for The Sign of Diseases

Certain species of trees are particularly susceptible to diseases and pests, and this is especially true if your neighborhood or state has had a recent spate of tree troubles. Check with your state’s department of agriculture to get informed on what kinds of trees you should avoid planting.

If your existing grown trees show evidence of problems, they will probably have to be removed altogether by a professional tree service. Trees are great additions to our gardens, but we must take the time to think before we plant and then take good care of them when they’re grown.

Tips to Prevent You from Tree Hazard

Everyone loves trees: they blossom in the spring giving us beauty and signaling the end of the cold season, the leaf in the summer offering us protection from wind and sun, and they give us a spectacle of color to enjoy in the fall. Here are some things to look out for with your property’s trees.

Be Careful While Tree Planting

That lovely baby pine might have been the perfect addition to your corner lot when you first planted it, but it has now grown into a mighty tree that obscures the vision of motorists at your intersection and will have to be removed.

Be mindful of the ultimate size of your trees when making planting site decisions. If you choose to plant a line of trees on a parkway, keep in mind, that they will have to be trimmed regularly so that the branches will not encroach on the street or fall on pedestrians’ heads.

Check Power Lines

If at all possible, do not plant trees in spots where they may grow into existing power lines. Although most communities’ electric companies handle tree pruning when tree growth gets out of hand, such trees still pose a hazard to the neighborhood if regular pruning is not done on time; their swinging branches may cut lines, disrupting power to many. Leave such pruning jobs to the professionals: electric lines are nothing for amateurs to mess with.

Trees are valuable to home assets, but sometimes you need to control their growth or face the risk of damage to your property. If you have issues with the trees on your property, you might not know whom to call for help. The professional who will provide all of the services you will need is called an arborist. Offered services include:

Tree Removal

Sick and rotting trees can cause major problems to your home and any vegetation around it. An arborist contractors will have a few different options when it comes to removal services. There are standard, low-impact, and down-only options for removal.

Standard options include downing the tree, disposing of the limbs, and cutting the parts suitable for firewood into 16-inch lengths. If the client decides they would rather not have the firewood, it can be removed for an additional fee.

Down-only removal options provide the same safety-conscious tree removal service, but the downed limbs will not be cut into firewood or moved for disposal. All cleaning is left to the homeowner in this option, but this does make it the cheapest option available to the homeowner.
