Here’s a list of ios features that you probably have not heard about. There are a lot of other iOS hidden features that are equally exciting.

iOS 16 has been out for quite some time now, and like other updates, if you think this one has also come with some obvious features, you are mistaken, my friend. Technically, there are quite a lot (not so obvious) changes to explore in this Apple’s mobile software update. This write-up will discuss the hidden features you might not have explored yet. Keep reading to stay informed.

So, moving forward, you’ll be surprised to know about the newest and most exciting feature, including a new customizable lock screen. This feature allows you to unsend and edit text messages and remove people, objects, or pets from your photos. People are feeling extremely excited about photoshopping their photos without even specialized software.

If you are already finding it interesting, you’ll be glad to know that this is not all. There are a lot of other iOS hidden features that are equally exciting. Let’s get into the details one by one.

Pair Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons with your iPhone

Long ago, apple had allowed you to pair third-party controllers, which included devices like an Xbox Core Controller or a PS5 Sony DualSense, to make your gaming experience more comfortable. This is one of the best iOS 16 hidden features where the company decided to enhance your gaming experience with this new update on your Apple mobile phone.

Now, if you own a Nintendo switch, here’s the good news. With the new update, you can pair your Joy-con controllers to your iPad or iPhone and take your gaming experience to a completely different level.

To pair, follow these steps;

  • Press and hold the little black pairing button on the Joy-con until the green light turns on
  • Next, unlock your iPhone and open Settings > Bluetooth and select Joy-Con from the list of available Bluetooth devices
  • Click on Joy-Con, and it will connect the device

Password Protect Hidden and Recently Deleted Albums

Did you ever felt secure about the hidden album in your iPhone? Probably not.

The new iOS 16 has worked on this aspect, and now with the new update, you can password-protect the hidden and recently deleted albums on your phone. How relieving does that sound?

It wasn’t possible to hide photos until now when you have got this feature to protect the album with a password.

To unlock this feature, you don’t have to do anything in your phone setting. To check it, all you have to do is open the photos and scroll down to the hidden album. You’ll see a tiny lock next to these albums, and when you try to open it, your phone will use the Face ID to unlock it.

View and Share Saved Wi-Fi Passwords

Until now, you were supposed to remember passwords to share with, say, an Android user. Other than this, to share the password with some other Apple user, you were supposed to bring the two devices close to each other. But now, the company has solved this issue with the newly launched iOS 16. Besides sharing, you can also view the password on your device.

Here’s how you can do it

  • Go to settings
  • Open the Wi-Fi icon and click on the network you want the password for
  • Tap on the password section, and use your Face ID/passcode to view it
  • Long click and click copy to copy the password on your clipboard

Find and Remove Duplicate Photos and Videos

Duplicates in the photo album not just occupy unnecessary space in your phone but also create a lot of irregularity in your photo album. Luckily you can now get rid of this mess with one of the new iOS features

Follow these steps to delete the duplicate pictures or videos

  • Click on the duplicates album in the gallery
  • Apple will scan your phone to show you duplicate photos and videos in the album
  • Now, you can either click delete or press merge to keep the highest-quality photo
  • Finally, move others to trash

Besides, you can simply click Select > Select All > Merge, which will remove every single video or photo Apple thinks is a duplicate. This way, you’ll be able to delete all duplicates at once.

Copy and Paste Photo and Video Edits

Let me simplify this for you. So, initially, you had to edit photos and videos one by one. But, with the new feature, if you edit a picture and feel satisfied with the changes, you can copy and paste the same edits to all other photos or videos you select.

How to do it

  • Launch the Photos app and open the edited photo in full-screen
  • Tap on the three-dot menu to open the options
  • Click on Copy Edit (You’ll see this option only in photos edited within photos and not third-party photo editor)
  • Now select the photo in which you wish to apply the changes
  • Again, go to the three-dot menu to hit Paste Edits
  • This way, the changes will appear. Again, go to the three-dot menu to hit Paste Edits

This way, the changes will appear.

Pin your Favorite Tabs in Safari

Once and for all, the problem of opening the same tabs repeatedly will not annoy you anymore. With the new feature, you can pin your favourite Safari tabs and open them in one click.

To apply this, press down on an open tab, and you’ll see an option to Pin Tab. Once you pin your favorite tab, it will appear towards the upper corner of Safari, making it easier for you to open it whenever needed.

To unpin the tab, you will have to follow the same process.

Bring Haptic Feedback to your Keyboard

Haptic feedback has been available on your iPhone for quite a long time. It is the feeling you get underneath your fingertips when you try to delete an app or enter an incorrect password on your phone. However, haptic feedback wasn’t available for the iOS keyboard until now.

Follow these steps to enable this feature

  • Go to settings
  • Click on Sounds & Haptics
  • Click on Keyboard Feedback

So, these are some of the newest features that will enhance your experience and protect your privacy in Apple phones.
