The International Cricket Council has announced the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup groups. The tournament will be hosted in the United Arab Emirates and Oman from October 17th, 2021 to November 14th, 2021.
The groups are selected based on the team rankings since March 20th, 2021. In Group 1, you’ll see the present defending champions, the West Indies, accompanied by former champions England, South Africa, and Australia. There will be two qualifiers joining them from Round 1.
Group 2 will include former champions India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and New Zealand, and two qualifiers from Round 1. Eight teams will be competing in the first round that includes Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, with the rest of the six teams who have booked their position through ICC Men’s T20 World CupQualifier in 2019. Namibia, The Netherlands, and Ireland will join Sri Lanka in Group A, while Scotland, PNG, and Oman will join Bangladesh in Group B.
T20 World Cup 2021 Schedule
Due to COVID-19, T20 2020 World Cup was postponed until 2022; however, the 2021 World 21 Cup announced all the details related to the tournament.
