You have just acquired a beautiful wig and like all of us you hope to keep it silky and shiny for as long as possible. There are no big secrets, keeping our wigs healthy requires a lot of attention, love and CARE. How to shampoo a wig, how to safely detangle it, how to protect it when you’re not wearing it… Stay with us, we’ll answer your questions.

How to wash your lace front wig or lace front wig?

First of all, let’s remember that the hair of our wigs does not come directly from our scalp. They are therefore not intended to become as oily as our natural hair and therefore do not need to be washed as often as they do. The only reasons why we have to wash our wigs are exposure to pollution, perspiration and above all the elimination of all the products that we put on them (foam, gel, oil, spray etc.). The frequency of washing your lace front wigs therefore depends on your use.

If you only have one wig that you wear daily, we recommend that you wash it every 15 days (2 weeks). To wash your wig less often and therefore somehow preserve it, the ideal is to have at least two wigs in your collection so that you can alternate their use.

How to style your wig while protecting it?

Detangle your wig without breaking the hair

Very important point to avoid breaking the hair, always start by brushing the ends and gradually go up . Of course, avoid brushing your hair when it is wet.

To detangle your lace frontal wig while avoiding any breakage, we advise you to opt for a wide-toothed comb which will prevent you from the appearance of split ends over time. The brush is also a good option, especially for straight hair, but prefer a 100% natural fiber brush such as boar bristle . Avoid brushes with plastic bristles, unless you want to end up with split ends and electric hair…

When to untangle your wig? When you have a good quality wig, you don’t need to brush it dozens of times a day. Prefer detangling in the morning before starting your day and in the evening before going to bed.

Can a straightener or curler be used on wigs?

100% natural wigs can be straightened or curled as you wish. However, before using a heated tool, be sure to protect the hair with a heat protectant to prevent drying out and maintain shine. Choose products with natural ingredients. Attention, avoid putting in quantity so as not to weigh down and grease the hair.

Don’t forget that a good straightening or curling iron must respect the hair, so pay attention to the plates and favor tools whose temperature can be adjusted. As far as styling is concerned, avoid alcohol-based products and favor natural products. As a general rule, the less greasy products you put on your wig, the longer it will last.

How to protect your wig when not wearing it?

1. Detangle the wig at the end of your day with a wide tooth comb or natural fiber brush.

2. If you take your wig off at night, be sure to put it on a mannequin head or wig stand to maintain the shape of the wig.

3. If you sleep with it, opt for a silk or satin scarf or bonnet (cotton dries the hair).

Take care of your wigs like your hair (without greasing them as much as your hair of course!) and we guarantee that they will pay you back well over time.
